Waiver and Release (English — operative text)
In consideration of being permitted to participate in activities organized on or through the acework Platform, I acknowledge and agree:
- Tennis and pickleball involve inherent risks, including injury from falls, collisions, equipment, court and weather conditions. I participate voluntarily and at my own risk;
- I am physically fit to participate and will stop playing if I feel unwell;
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless the event organizer, the Alberta Chinese Tennis & Pickleball Association, acework, and their directors, volunteers and venue providers from all claims for personal injury, death, or property damage arising from my participation, except those caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct;
- I will follow event rules, safety instructions and venue regulations;
- Photos and videos taken at events may be used for community records and promotion; I may request removal of any image of me at any time;
- I confirm that I am at least 18 years of age. Acework is available only to adults; the Platform does not permit participants under 18.
- This waiver remains in effect for all activities I join within 12 months of signing, or until the waiver version is updated, whichever is earlier.
